Environment
Spacious joyful classrooms set up with stimulating interest areas with books, dramatic play, sand & water, blocks, art materials, music, learning games, and cooking.
Standards
We adhere to NAEYC’s standard for developmentally appropriate curriculum and teaching strategies based on the way children develop and learn. Class curriculum encompasses social skills, language, reading, math, science, Spanish, music, art and physical education.
Curriculum
We follow The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool. Children and the teachers come up with a topic that they want to investigate and explore. The topic is investigated in group discussions, played out in two or more interest areas, then read about in books & materials provided by teachers & families. Examples of studies include trees, gardening, balls, music, insects, roads, boxes, exercise, boxes, pets, recycling and simple machines.
Assessment
Each child’s progress is monitored using the Creative Curriculum GOLD™ Assessment System that is aligned to state early learning standards. GOLD is inclusive of children with disabilities, children who are English learners, and children who are advanced learners.

Nutrition
Anne Sullivan Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten is proud to be a certified NAP SACC site. NAP SACC is a program that addresses a major health problem in American children: childhood obesity. The program seeks to promote healthy weight development in preschool children by improving the nutritional quality of food served, as well as the amount and quality of physical activity.
We provide home cooked meals every day. There are 4 menus that are rotated weekly each month. Please refer to the daily menus under the corresponding week to know precisely what your child is eating while at school.
